Patterning

We are learning:

We can identify, describe, and extend geometric repeating patterns involving one attribute.

Examples of attributes include:
   - Shape
   - Size
   - Colour
   - Direction / Location
   - Texture

COLOUR ATTRIBUTE:     A      B      C       A     B       C       A     B      C
SHAPE ATTRIBUTE:        A      B      A       A     B       A       A     B      A
SIZE ATTRIBUTE:           A      B      B       A     B       B       A      B      B

What is the pattern core?
“What is a geometric pattern?”
A geometric pattern is a pattern that uses shapes
We can create, identify and extend numeric patterns.

Table of Values

A table of values is used to represent a given pattern. Table of values help us to make predictions about a growing or a shrinking pattern
We can build a model to represent a number pattern presented in a table of values that shows the term number and the term.
We can make a table of values for a pattern that is generated by adding or subtracting a number to get the next term or by multiplying or dividing by a constant to get the next term, given either the sequence or the pattern rule in words.
